I'm surprised this doesn't happen more often actually.

supposedly it was hit by a typhoon 3 days ago. And that tanker speeding across it helped cause the failure.

why do you say that?

Other View You can see a cable fail after the tanker passes it.

If he has 2 more seconds, he makes it. Or if he were a few seconds behind, he goes down flat instead of up ended.

He actually screwed himself by hitting the part that didn't collapse. If he doesnt hit that he falls flat and has a sore arse and 18 blown tires

Thankfully, that second video angle makes it looks like he only fell about 15 or 20 feet, and landed on his back bumper (instead of upside down). Looked way more survivable than the first video.

Because infrastructure maintenance isn’t high on the political agenda list and there are tons of bridges around the world that are in dire need of repair but still driven across everyday.

When I was a kid, I heard time and time again how the Green Bridge connecting NO East and Chalmette was first on the Army Core of Engineer's list of bridges most likely to collapse. Pretty sure this made up by Chalmations to keep out people from the East.

Makes me appreciate the new bridge

Holds hundreds of cars for hours on end and never collapses

yes repair. but if engineers are fearful of a collapse the bridge would be closed. Look at the sunshine bridge. We are just luck that retard pilot hit the sunshine bridge and not the New Bridge.

Assuming engineers even know about it. I think you're overestimating things here.
