I was on a anti MIL ride coming back on the Causeway in the fast lane. Saw a T top hatch fly over the rail off a Corvette, nice ride. Must have been his passenger decided to take it down in mid drive, she lost it at 70-80 mph, thankfully it went into the lake and not my lane.

You didn't have to stick your cigarette, or whatever else you might have been smoking, out the window to get the ash to go out of the car. With those T-tops, you could just hold it up, and it got sucked out. At least that's the way my little brother's Monte Carlo was.

Yes I had an 86 and 95 Z28 when I was in high school. T-Tops are the best way to let my mullet fly in the wind and not having the added weight of a convertible.

I would absolutely take one again but I can’t grow hair anymore.

Damn the 280Z is a beautiful car. But I think I like the 240 a bit better; seems to be more in proportion. But I’d give my left pinky toe for either.

Had a 78 Datsun 280Z, then later moved into a 83 280zx with t-tops. It was kind of fun until they were stolen twice. Second time they had locks on them that did absolutely no good. Was at the Fairway View apartments in 91. Was kind of fun on a nice day to drive around and a buddy of mine and I would jump in like we were driving the General Lee.

My first car was an 83 mustang with t-tops. That hoss had a 3.6 in it. Felt like a 5.0 with my t-tops off.

I had an 83 GT with t-tops as well. Had a police package 5.5 in it though

I then had a 93 300Z with T-tops, was so nice to have on good weather days at the Lakefront or spring break cruising in Destin haha

This was my car in high school. It was fun as hell back then, but it’s cringe worthy to look at now. The T-Tops were awesome. Nothing better than spring and fall weather with those puppies off.

Nothing cringeworthy about that .

I had a late 80's Toyota Forerunner that had a removable top. It was not easy to remove and was heavy as hell. Plus a bitch to store. But it was nice when it was off

Looked like this. Mine was gold. Cant find a picture

Top off like this

What's the purpose of the "T"? Why not just two roof panels like the jeep freedom tops?

Insurance companies cracked down on convertibles back in the 70's. This was Detroit's response.
