Because two people can get unlimited on AT&T for well under that
AT&T had a "Smartphone Access Fee" of $15 per line on our account.. I asked why no other carrier quoted me the same fee and AT&T support said they were lying. When they offered the "Buy 1 Galaxy Get 1 Free" deal a couple years ago, they talked my wife into opening a new line to take advantage of the deal. Still charged us $15 access fee on that line, even though there was no phone attached to it
Left AT&T and went to Sprint. Two brand new phones + unlimited data + free Hulu + 18% off anything in store through my wife's work discount. Saving nearly 30% off of what we paid at AT&T. No discernible difference in service or speed as of yet

Cricket wireless, 3 smart phones, unlimited everything, 90 bucks

I switched to Verizon and it's definitely cheaper. Even their most expensive data plan is $80/mo if you do auto-pay. Of course taxes and fees increase that but it still comes out to $200 for 2 lines. Every line you add the price per line goes down. I have more data than I did with AT&T (unlimited) and actually get service at my house.

For 2 people? Wow, what kind of plan do you have?
AT&T's data plans are really expensive. If you don't use much at all you can make it somewhat cheap but if you use a lot of data AT&T is a ripoff.

Went to straight talk. Unlimited 45 bucks a month. Brought a Verizon phone as they use whatever towers your phone will work with. Just so happens where I live Verizon has the best coverage. If you want att coverage just bring an att phone.
No overage charges. They throttle you back if you go over. Never happened to me.

Verizon has been shite in BR for the past 3 months.
I don’t know what TF is going on, but I used to have perfect signals wherever I go.
It’s damn near impossible to make a phone call at home now.

Verizon IS the best. I've been out of contract for many, many years. At&t sucked when I used to have them

We pay about $125 for 2 lines with AT&T. Do you have some kind of crazy data plan?

T-Mo is legit in cities. it is faster than verizon, which i had before. i pay $95/mo for 2 lines unlimited.

I went Verizon a little more than a year ago. New phone and cheaper plan than AT&T.
As a bonus I don't have to deal with AT&T.

I have AT&T prepaid as well. No difference from AT&T except you own the phone. Mine is $40 for first line and $35 for second. 8 GB Data each line.
