I've bought a pair of Costas probably close to 10 years ago that I've gotten replace for $12 both times. I paid a lot up front, but that's a pretty good deal. My dad subscribes to your model, but breaks and or loses his glasses at $20 a pop. I bet over that time frame weve spent the same amount of money and I have higher quality product.

Sunglasses or coolers? by shinerfan Every $200 pair I've ever bought were lost or stolen or left on a bar within a month, month and a half. $30-50 shades do me just fine.

That's the difference. If you take care of your shite it's worth it to buy nice stuff, if you don't get disposable

Optics, glass vs plastic lenses, coatings on the lenses, warranty repair service.

I am far to rough on sunglasses to drop that kind of money on a pair

This is me.

I have no issue spending $300 on a pair of shades. In fact, I basically do! Just not all at once.

Alas. If I spent $300 at one time, that would likely be a $1500 a year habit.

You only get one set of eyes. Polarized lenses are important if you’re looking at water all day or on the road. I don’t think paying a little more for something you use everyday is a waste.

Keep your gas station shades though. Your eyes on the line not mine.

You see, they're still just a cheap piece of plastic and glass, no matter how much conspicous penile compensation they provide you.

Kirkland brand sunglasses are every bit as nice as name brand 300+ sunglasses. Yet they cost less than 30 bucks.

Majority of sunglasses are made by luxottica. Their monopoly on the eyeglass industry is why that shite is so expensive

Explain the difference between a $200 pair of Costas vs a generic $20 pair of polarized glasses. I really don’t know the difference

This x1000. They keep all those brands around so that people have the illusion of choice. Otherwise they would know they are getting ripped off

If you can't tell the difference between gas station sunglasses and Maui Jims then that's great, probably saves you a bunch of money.

I’ve been wearing Costa’s since before it was “cool” to wear Costa’s . Probably had a dozen pairs in the last 25 Years. I’m working with 5 pairs now. They really are nice fishing glasses for offshore and onshore. All I have is regular type ice chest’s. Fifteen or twenty of those. Good glasses are worth it.

Well see. I'm at the beach. Relaxed. Having fun. Doing stuff. Going outside, going inside, going swimming, going to eat, taking a shower, playing with my daughter, going to the bar. They're constant going on and off. I'm never really thinking about them, whether they're on my head or not. I'm enjoying the moment of fun I'm having. We've got a million other things to keep up with. I'm just not gonna be focused on them. If I try and make myself, well that seems like a lot of effort that and preoccupied materialistic bullshite that would kill my entire reason for going to the beach with my family and wearing sunglasses to begin with. Honestly I'd just rather lose a pair every now and then as much as it sucks

Do YETI’s come with a lifetime warranty? I know Coasta’s do. If they break, send them back and get them repaired.

Then again, not sure why a cooler would offer a lifetime warranty anyways.

It's just a damn shame that there's no middle ground between gas station crap and full blown tryhard metrosexual.

And douchebaggery never fails to announce itself.

But to be fair, it's not always pure douchebaggery. Short fellas always seem to have to prove their worth. Just be glad you're not a short poor. You'd have to announce your manhood with a pitbull.

There is very little difference in quality between Costa and American Optical. There's a huge difference in price. Does the logo make you feel taller? More travelled?

I open a couple Yetis but they're are other that are probably better value.

I paid $250 for a pair if MJ glasses though that were with every penny. I had them 5 or 6 years before they got stolen. I replaced them with a Rx set from MJ that ran over $500. I've had them now 12 years and I would replace be them in a heart beat if lost. The optics are superior to any regular glasses I have ever owned.

I'm looking forward to you providing the link

Like most things, if you got the money, an increase in price won't matter for the better quality.
