Study: Average Body Temperature May Not be 98.6

A few weeks ago, someone here posted about body temperature and his not being close to 98.6.
Well it looks like science has caught up with that poster.
Here is a link to an article about a study showing that body temperatures have fallen since the 98.6 standard set.
Link
I can agree with the premise of the article as I know my average body temperature is at least one degree cooler than 98.6. Usually, if I am at 98.6 is when I start feeling ill.
I know this is joke I made at the time of the other post. Where do you get the most accurate body temperature readings?
If you said rectal, then you sir are correct.
Just remember, do not stick the rectal thermometer in your mouth after use that isn’t chocolate.
I wonder if that study used rectal readings, or did they use new infrared thermometers?

Fun fact:
Fahrenheit created his temperature scale to have body temperature to be 100.
He sort of screwed that up a bit

My wife temp is usually 96. Oddly, she complains of always feeling warm and runs around in shorts and short sleeves even when it is 40 outside. She has hands like ice and still complains she feels hot. She has always been this way. Nope, shes not fat or having hot flashes.

So, global warming is actually just our bodies getting cooler?

Not for me he didn't
I run hot.
What's weird is I can rock a thin sweater under a suit in the dead of summer, and not even glisten with sweat.
Same goes for winter.
I keep the house at whatever temp it is outside under 60. Don't care.

I remember a Professor discussing this issue and he said that 98.6 was the average of 100 medical student in a study a long time ago. The standard deviation went as high as 100.3, but above 100.4 was outside that range and was significant enough to be considered a fever. That was probably 25 years ago though, looks like there’s some changes...

Main difference between an oral and rectal thermometer is...
The taste
