Nah man I jsut live in the real world and I realized as a quite privileged person, that a lot of people don't get the same breaks or perks other privileged people do. And it's not always because they didnf work hard or didn't make the right choices

There are people in 3rd world countries that work their arse off for their whole lives and still never make it out of their elements.

I guess they should have jsut worked harder?

I'm privileged as frick.

They want the perks? Then work hard and don't be a frick up. That's how you reach that "privileged" bracket.

Absolutely false. You can always go back in their life and point out several instances where they CHOSE to do something counterproductive. Just turns out that the risk they took bit them in the arse.

Uh... That's because that is the way it is.... Your life is a series of choices. Choices that YOU ALONE make. Where you end up in life, how successful or unsuccessful you are, amounts to the decisions that YOU made.

Do I study, or go play ball with the boys? Do I go to class or go drink at the pool? Do I sell drugs or work as a waiter?

The only person you can blame for your failures or give credit for your successes is yourself. Your parents can't take your test. They can't study for you. Living in the inner city doesn't make the homework Any different.

YOU are in the driver's seat of YOUR life. YOU control YOUR destiny. To blame any other factors but yourself is just willfully ignorant.

Who gives a frick about 3rd world countries? Does what happens there affect your life in any meaningful way? Does the plight of some African village change your day to day routine?

If the answer to this is no, why are you bringing them up? Oh as some sort of moral got ya.

You said yourself you're privileged. So why don't you share your privilege with these 3rd world countries?

Woah there, buddy. Go spend a month teaching innocent elementary kids in an inner city public school and tell me there are zero other factors. These kids don't have shite at home, and they're 5. They can't exactly "make the right choices" to better their lives. The teachers/schools do the best they can to lead these little ones to a better life, but they're kids that are influenced by their home life. For the majority, once they hit middle school, it is too late.

Your heart may be in the right place, but you're severely lacking insight into the lives of people vastly different than you. The cycle that occurs in the lower class is a very real thing. To deny that these people have the odds stacked against them as they grow up is short-sighted and frankly kinda block-headed.

I'm not taking up for looney bin over there, but the bootstraps mentality is just wrong for some people.

Because he doesn't want to share his privilege. He wants to share yours.

I share mine as much as I can. I'm more privileged that 99% of the world, just like most people in America. I can't help push that to 98% ?

You're right. The kid shouldn't have been born. The kid, in this instance, was the bad decision. Inner cities are played by bad decisions.

Which is why breeding should be a privilege. Not a right.

But you're speaking to adults, who were raised this way, and saying they should have made the right choices throughout their lives.. when the bad choices started back when they were innocent kids.

Good on you. The problem is you also want to force everyone else to share theirs.

And to that I say, frick off.

Well. You hit that one on the head. I don't give a flying frick about any other person but myself and close friends/family.

You, your family, your friends, CO workers. I could not care less. It's quite easy to make logical decisions when you strip emotion out of it.

You're making excuses for them. At 13 they know right from wrong. Hold them accountable. Being raised in the hood doesn't give you an excuse to not fulfill your obligations as a student. At some point you have to hold them accountable for their own lives.
