I ate at Chick-fil-A today - LOTS of stressed out, terrified teenagers there. It was horribly delicious.

Common sense has no place here. There's a reason so many new grads and millenials are depressed in their mid 20s. They've never faced any opposition, or opinions or situations that are counter to the beliefs they hold. And I thought that was the point of college...to prepare you for the world, expose to you situations and beliefs you may not be familiar with or agree with, and how to deal with them.
There are hundreds of articles on the phenomenon that has been created.
