The Revellie’s title says it was a hit and run. It is odd that the story mentions the driver not being ticketed and not leaving the scene.

The Revellie is either wrong, or the author does not know the definition of a hit-and-run, which also makes them wrong. Either is very possible.

I like Fred's specifically, which has grown and prospered, but otherwise that area has gone downhill the last 20 years. Bad element over there, as Brad Wesley would say.

Where do you put a new strip of bars around campus? Highland north of Chimes has always seemed like an obvious location, but man that area falls off a cliff fast. There is not enough of a buffer.

Once the new arena is built up the road, I expect Tigerland to get an overhaul.

There’s several apartment complexes already condemned.

Tigerland is such garbage.

It was awesome when I was in school, but that was LONG before it morphed into what it is today. My favorite establishment was the Tiger Lair Lounge in the Tiger Plaza Apartments. There was also a real cool live music club next door to Fap's that created some issues with the Frat Boys, but it was all fun.

Yep.

I think it’ll have a big revival.

The driver has not been ticketed
That tells me it wasn’t a hit and run

Man, Tiger Lair is a place I've not thought about in years. Used to shoot pool there, 2nd floor, it was the coolest vibe in Tigertown. The only other place in that area we went to was on across Nicholson, maybe it was called Yesterday's. Late 70's, early 80s.

It's the Reveille.

I wouldn't trust it as toilet paper, let alone to give accurate info.

This also happened in early 2000’s and was fatal…drunk guy jay-walking across street.

Sad for all involved.

Just start with matches and gasoline...

Terrible for the families involved in this situation...

The problem is the proprietors of those establishments only have one thing on their mind $$$$$$
That’s it
They have no desire to invest anything else from a building standpoint or further development

W Chimes & W State street are prime locations. It has to be walking distance to campus/Tiger Stadium. Having to walk along Nicholson from campus is not ideal at all compared to talking through campus.
