Roughly a month ago one of my childhood friends and was still a very good friend (monthly drinking buddy) was killed retooling a Ford Motor plant in Kansas City, MO. Safety pins gave way and was crushed. Godspeed Tim Windings miss you my brother.

A guy 1 year below me in high school got so drunk one night and fell asleep on his back. Choked on his own vomit.

Sad because he was a nice guy.

That's sad, but not strange at all. Happens a lot. I personally knew 2 guys around my age from my hometown that died like that in the last 18 months. Like 1/2 of every rockstar that dies young dies like that. Jimi Hendrix, Keith Moon, Bon Scott

friend was playing with a revolver that he thought wasn't loaded...was trying to twirl the gun around his finger like they do in the old westerns.

Gun was loaded, shot himself in the head...wife was close to giving birth to their child

My great uncle (WW2 Vet, German POW, etc)...overall tough bastard...gets drunk, hit by a train.

A very good friend from high school fell over 20 stories doing construction

And lastly, the one that weirds me out the most...uncle goes to dentist and has a reaction to the anesthesia and passes away...

not all that strange though. if you have surgery and anesthesia, they always make you sign something where you admit you know you may die from the anesthesia or a reaction to the procedure (like a stroke).

Had the guy in BR a few years ago cutting down tree limbs in his back yard by swimming pool. Cuts large limb that knocks him off ladder and pins him under water in pool. Drowns.

I know a guy that got in car accident and in that accident a power line pole was knocked down. Guy was alright, got out of car and stepped on a live power line and was electrocuted. He was in his mid 20's.

Yes, before every OR surgery with anesthesia the patient will sign an anesthesia consent unless it is an emergency. The consent basically says anything can happen during surgery. From a bruised lip to death and anything in between due to the effects of anesthesia.

As far as a dentist goes most do not use an anesthesia provider. Very few these days use Nitric Oxide. A dentist should never give Propofol IV push because they are not airway experts. They lack the training and equipment to handle an airway emergency. Dentist are very good on injecting local anesthesia and blocking the nerves in the mouth thus an anesthesia provider is really unnecessary.

Secretary at our office just told me yesterday some guy she knows went outside for a cigarette at 2:00 am last week, slipped and smacked his head, and froze within 15 minutes in the sub-zero temps.

This is Final Destination type shite. These are cases where I hope there is a God.

Three old men I knew had always talked about buying an island in the Bahamas, for about 30 years. About 20 years ago, they did it. They were having a house constructed on it, and the three guys wanted to go check on its progress. The only thing left unfinished that they see is the wall/railing for each of patios on each level of the three-story house.
It's raining, so they set up their chairs under the house and stay up late, just marveling at what they've achieved. One guy gets tired and goes up to his bedroom.
About a half hour later, the two guys below start yelling for the other one to get back down to see how amazing the lightening looks on the water.
Guy upstairs pops out of his bedroom and falls straight to his death, at the feet of his buddies.

Edit: He did not die right away, but he died in the boat they put him in, trying to get medical attention.

A dear friend of mine died in a hotel room in Shreveport where he had travelled to for work. They didn't find him for a couple days. Cause of death was never really established. He was in his late twenties, full of life.

I didn't know the guy, but when I was 13 I saw a man and his infant daughter both die from a lightning strike on the beach in Gulf Shores.

15 pages of this shite? Anyone got a strange story of when they got laid in a strange place? Prison sex doesn't count unless you're gay.

when i was a substitute teacher, i had a kid from one of my classes pass away from a freak farm accident.

apparently he was on a horse which got startled by something causing him to jump off. and when he did he hit his head on a nearby tractor, killing him.

i also had a neighbor, 4 days from retiring, fall off his roof. he was up there with a leaf blower and slipped and hit the driveway head first.

When I was a teenager a neighbor who was in his mid-thirties was airing up a heavy equipment split rim tire at a construction site.

It exploded and took his head off. Literally took his head off.

Had a friend and co-worker die from a flying umbrella coming off a table/umbrella setup. It was a windy day, the umbrella/table was next to hotel pool. Gust of wind takes the umbrella from table, flies over fence protecting pool, across parking lot and jambs him in neck. Great guy, extremely nice guy.
