re: Strangers Rank Their Intelligence | IQ vs First Impressions

You’re making a disimilar comparison. Five out of the six people in that video are college educated. The question is, would you expect a Harvard/Yale graduate to be smarter than the rest of the college group? My answer would be no. And that would be especially true if the person was a minority.
If we are looking strictly at IQ (as determined by IQ tests) the average IQ of a minority graduate from an Ivy League school would be well above 100, which is the average score. Are there some below 100? Probably, but not many.

Yes, you absolutely would expect that on average. But, as I said earlier, intelligence is distributed along a bell curve, and there will always be some overlap; however, the median of the distribution is shifted further to the right for Ivy League grads. That means that if you were a betting man the smart money is on the Ivy League grads. That doesn’t mean you might not lose the bet.

The average Harvard / Yale grad has a higher IQ than the average American. That’s a fact and shouldn’t be controversial.
Except the Yale "grad" was obviously a "diversity" admittance. She most likely didn't attend classes with the other people in major.
The Harvard guy on the other hand got admitted to Harvard despite his race working against him. Pretty obvious he was most likely #1.

There’s aren’t enough qualified minority candidates to meet the race quotas that the universities set. And this is true even at places like Harvard.
They’ve done two things to fix that. One, slash recruiting standards, and two, slash academic standards, often by creating soft academic paths.
There are many smart minority students at college, but as a cohort, minority candidates are less intelligent. And it’s because universities are setting aside academic qualifications, to hit racial targets.
This is a truism about university admissions in general, but who you are is more important than what you can do.

Well the person I wanted to be in last place ended up in last place, so that was nice.

I understand this and don’t disagree. But at a highly selective school like Yale, the minority students are still well above the average American IQ. I understand that they are admitted with lower scores. But Yale is so selective that you would expect a minority grad from that school to be very intelligent. So if you had no other information to use to rank someone’s IQ, you would pick the minority student who graduated from Yale.
That is the same reason then I would’ve picked the Asian kid who went to Harvard as having the highest IQ. His racial group has the highest standards of all, so without better information I would always pick him first.

As you can see the liberal college establishment has made wokeness=intelligence. I’m afraid we are too far gone.

I’ve often wondered what would happen if a white person put on an application that they were black?
Nothing I think, unless they ever run for office.

Also the black chick: I took Spanish for 12 years and can only say burrito
She's an idiot
But didn't you hear her? She is dyslexic, has ADHD, and borderline autistic! She even mentioned it twice to give you an excuse why she would score low. LOL

Not an African American or a Hispanic student.
Asian and whites who attend Ivy League schools are the best and brightest. By a landslide.
I would have chosen the Harvard Asian guy 1, High school military guy 2, some combination of 3 and 4, then the black girl 5, and Soy George as 6.

I went back to college in my 40s my ability to learn compared to my first attempt after high school was amazing. I know real life is the best teacher there is but I definitely developed a better method of learning.

I love how Tyler, the white Marine, got accused of having linear thinking when literally everyone correlated the amount/prestige of post-secondary education to potential IQ scores. Talk about linear.
Got to love it.
Got to love it.

Linear thinkers are good direction followers, not necessarily people you want problem solving, if you need to think outside the box.

Good on the flamboyant Asian guy for being the most self aware and having the least ego about it.

You’re not entirely sure how averages work are you?

quote:I have no idea what my IQ is, but when I got out of the Navy I qualified for vocational rehab, due to disability. This program basically paid for college, but I had to take some kind of IQ test like you described above. I wasn't told the actual score, but the person who give the test said I scored in the top 10 percentile.
An IQ of 130 on a REAL IQ test given by a psychologist. Those tests can take 3-4 hours to complete. The psychologist reads all the questions to you and you answer aloud. There's "performance" sections of the test where you put blocks together in patterns and shite as well. Psychologist stands over you with a stopwatch.
I guarantee you there's plenty of people who score 130 online who would score 105 on the WAIS.

Not going to lie, I would have called them out for being credentialist suckers and would have leaned in on SAT/ACT/GPAs to figure out if they were affirmative action. Actually I probably would have straight up asked the AA girl since she was such a bitch to that Marine.
