Very true. But living in 3 different countries for 8 years total will expose you to new cultures, people and points of view. So it tends to open your mind to being more receptive to change and things that are different than what you are used to.

I know people that are from Louisiana, went to college here and never moved away from here. While they are intelligent people, some of them are extremely closed minded.

It was amazing how quickly iq score doesn't mean anything.

I met some people in South TX that never left South TX. Probably had never been more than 4 hours away from home. It's bewildering.

Leftist believe antipositive things (subjective) out weigh the objective.

Nothing matters, until they formulate some bizarre theory.

Which is very subjective, in this day and age.

That's simply a matter of perspective.

Intelligence can be subjective then. The most intelligent person in a group of idiots is still an idiot.

And vice versa, the least intelligent person in a group of geniuses is still a genius.

It just so happened that the military dude was smarter. Good for him, but if you had no other information, the smart money in that situation is on the two Ivy League grads.

Didn't see it posted.

How would your view of this experiment be if they threw minority non-college educated women in a group of White male Ivy league grads and PhDs?

Imagine the same group, but instead of the HS only white guy competing against highly educated minorities, the roles were reversed? Would you still expect an even sprinkling of IQ?

Seems that people would immediately point to the sample set being biased. But in this video they do not....why?

And OTOH, I know people who grew up here, left, and now act like they had people burning crosses on their front lawn every other weekend now that they are in an east coast big city.

Exposure to other cultures and areas still doesn’t stop you from being a bigoted, closed minded person.

That’s true. And getting a degree doesn’t automatically mean someone is intelligent.

I don’t think you understand how college admittance works in the Ivy League. It is overwhelmingly biased against whites and Asians.

I’ve read about it. No disagreement here.

If I meet a black or Hispanic person of the same background - they are smarter than the average person but the jury is still out on whether or not they are in the same league with the first group.

My son’s best friend (Asian kid) had above a 4.0 GPA from an advanced school, perfect 36 on ACT, Merit Scholar, valedictorian, and even started a successful charity in his hometown. (Wait for it)

Denied by every Ivy League school.

If he was a black female, he would already be Vice President of the United States.

I think I just misinterpreted your original post. But yeah, I completely believe you about your son’s friend.

I want affirmative action to go away. Without it, kids like your friend’s son would be admitted and the black/Hispanic kids wouldn’t be doubted.

I could not agree more.

One of the smartest guys in my medical school class was black. He is brilliant. He is also now the youngest chair of a department in the history of his university hospital.

He hated the fact that people assumed he got in medical school because of his skin color.

I bet he still thinks people view his well deserved success through a colored lens.

Controversial? It's a wonder he's not in a federal penitentiary right now. The stories I read when I was really into that stuff, was shocking to say the least.

Absolutely true. I know a ton of people with advanced degrees. One, a masters in education and counseling, may be one of the dumbest people I've had the pleasure to know.
