C2= 2Pi[D+1] = 2PiD + 2Pi

The length of string 1 is 2pi x r. The length of a string that is 1 foot above that is 2pi x (r+1). So the difference in lengths is:
2pi x (r+1) - (2pi x r)
(2pi x r) + (2pi) - (2pi x r)
2pi
The radius of the sphere doesn't matter.
