Meh, once you go that route, you can never be trusted again

I got teased for coming across as too Western. They called me a coconut—brown on the outside, white on the inside.”

Her husband was pretty famous in the caliphate. He was probably one of the highest-ranking Westerners - and definitely the most powerful American - in the organization before he was supposedly killed in 2017. Good article here about him.
I have sympathy for those women and even some of those men. They're all about that life until they ain't. It's a story told a thousand different times in a thousand different contexts.
Your average person from a developed country is virtually never hard enough withstand the shite that you go through to fight a war as a rebel in a developing country. In a twisted way I admired some of the people we fought against in Iraq - many of them were tough as nails even if the causes they were fighting for - and many of the fighters themselves - were evil and barbaric.

Take as old as time. Dumb girl hooks up with crazy broke arse dude. He treats her like crap until she eventually leaves. She is now saddled with kids but is fortunate to find same guy that lets her be herself and help raise her kids.
Sounds like most girls who get knocked up in high school.

frick her. And I don’t mean that in a nice way. If she was affiliated with IS in any way, she can’t be trusted or forgiven. Jail for her and re-education for the kids.
