Ida appears to be next on the name list. Just a mater of whether 99L or 97L gets the name first. Julian would be next.

There's more uncertainty cooked into the track than you'd think with the model convergence overnight. Big waves can be tricky to wrap up and the models could reasonably be organizing too quickly vs what reality will bring.

The steering isnt exactly Laura either, this one has room to both get far enough west to spare you big headaches and get east of you as well.

All that said if its reasonably organized (say strong TS) and shoots the Yucatan Channel without land interaction, its likely to be very bad for whoever it hits.

Time to dust off the generator and make sure it works, some basic stock up on canned goods, nonperishables, and batteries.

most of the northern gulf coast paths seem to be a strong to very strong storm.

Trying to drive that point home this morning.

Every look at the modeling of the shear and upper divergence situation and i find myself saying frick a lot.

Got my 24 kw Generac installed about 3 weeks ago. I’ll have a spare generator in Baton Rouge if someone on the board ends up needing it. I’ve got family all along the coast from Corpus to Amelia.

This. I’m not a meteorologist but I understand momentum and not having land interfere with a water surge/hurricane coming from the Caribbean and entering the GOM seems like very bad news for an enormous storm surge.

Mind if I ask the cost ilof that? I told my husband it may be time to just do it. We typically use a normal generator and live in the pool house with a window unit. Fridge/micro and a bathroom with shower but it might be time to bite the bullet.

He probably said the exact same thing last year when delta was brewing. He probably said no way they get him with a 2nd hurricane in less than 2 months. Weather is random you can’t go off of odds

I hope it’s a tropical depression that causes a spin up tornado that blows your oak tree drown and nothing else is damaged anywhere
