I'll give a report from the airport once I can get one.
Know a few people trying to get over to MSY right now to fly out, but last report I got was significant flight delays with the standard weather rolling through and expected cancellations

Think I’ll be able to drive into BR in a few hours from Mobile to evacuate a friend? Cause that’s what I’ll be trying to do. Just debating if I should leave now or in 4 hours after trying to sleep.

If she’s on well water and doesn’t have a generator…yeah.

MSY shouldn't have any traffic other than cargo this time of night. Breeze is the only airline at MSY that has cancelled flights for Sunday/Monday. Everything else is still TBD from what I'm seeing

I'd start heading that way now. Roads are clear, and radar between the two looks fairly clear as well. The later you push, the closer we get to bumper to bumper.

Just nothing else that gets me in before 1:30PM tomorrow and that's a connecting flight (which makes me nervous that the airport might decide to close before that point to get their non-essential employees out of there).

Roger that. Worst case, I get to BR and she is still sleeping and I have to wait for her to get ready to leave. But at least I’d avoid as many slow downs as possible.

Looks like Southwest has cancelled anything that would get you in past 5PM tomorrow.

You're a good man, Charlie Brown. Safe travels.

1:30 should be fine, but make sure you secure a rental car before flying down. Would hate for you to get stuck at MSY. All Saturday flights should operate as scheduled with the exception of anything scheduled overnight at MSY, BTR or LFT. Can't see the airlines leaving anything on the ground overnight as I'm expecting closures all day Sunday

I am hearing they may evacuate Angola Prison Inmates to Thomas Assembly Center in Ruston starting in the AM.
There is no reason they would need to be evacuated

Clear sailing between Houma/Thib to laffy.
Sure that will change as today progresses, but ahead of the wave…
Be safe those getting on the roads

Somebody on the rant said the LSU football team is headed to Houston in the morning

Heading to Dallas or Houston? My beer offer still stands!

Thanks. I just pulled the trigger on the flight. I have a friend that can pick me up from airport and get me to their house. Just need to get them in their car and take off.
No issues with gas station shortages around the metro area right now?

It’s sad every time how many people don’t know that their water supply goes away when the electricity cuts off.
There are people in Mandeville that do not know their water comes from their well. Not many, but still too many.
