If you think it's coming on shore around New Iberia that means the center will be 100 miles from New Orleans which is a long way away for a hurricane. It would be blustery but not even that bad in New Orleans for that. Like Gustav. It wasn't bad at all in New Orleans.

Holy shite, the Euro is coming in at 939mb, just south of Terrebonne at 54 hours. Looks like the same path as previous run but way stronger.

What’s the ruling if you have a carport with a garage door on one side (west facing) and open on the other side (east facing)?

Definitely open it to lower the differential pressure across it.

It does NOT take a half hour to get through MC on a regular weekday.

Despite starting Ida off 11mb too high, Euro gets it down to 939mb with plenty of water still ahead of it:

We now have our next discussion to hold us over until the next advisory.

My wife will swim in the ocean, but won't swim in our pool if we have a few leaves at the bottom of it. I try to bring logic into the discussion and she won't have it

If my wife sees a leaf in our pool she freaks out. She will swim in it but it really annoys her and it has to be spotless if god forbid a single person is coming over.

It cracks me up.

I’m packing up a lot of belongings and leaving New Orleans in the next hour. Is this being overly cautious? I live in mid city

Euro 12Z has Cat 2 at 1PM on Sunday. Approaching more east than previous run. On a similar path to what NHC track shows as of now.

Anyone remember George? I remember all the doomsday talk about that storm as a kid then it just decided a NOPE to Louisiana and made a hard turn. I remember them saying it was baffling why it did that. Why did it turn away from Louisiana at that point?
