It depends on how north or south it forms and how long it stays over the Yucatan

The models have it weakening over the Yucatan right now which is keeping the intensity down

But we just saw with Hurricane Grace how quickly storms can strengthen in the Gulf after interaction with the Yucatan. Imagine if it misses it.

I can handle a CAT2. I won’t even leave. But these models showing cat 3 or 4. I just can’t.

Ike was horrific in Houston. 100+ mph winds, no electricity for weeks and no filling stations open in the entire metro area.
