Seems to be pretty much where we thought it was.

Thinking that the GFS had the center slightly farther east and the center is just now reforming where the GFS thought it was.
None of the current info is in the current computer models. Not yet.

Parts of the southeast have had excess rainfall, not just west Tennessee. We really don't need rains that pay homage to Camille because our mountain soils get wet and flow down hill.

When does TD get a YouTube channel that’ll provide storm updates every hour?

As a matter of fact it could have a channel for the majority of the boards on here.

The center on the last recon pass was right around 18N, 80W, which is basically where the GFS thought it would be at 5-6PM.

You have to keep in mind the GFS is initialized at 1PM Central, even though we don't see it until 4:30 or so.

It's damn near 1000 miles on the nose from the current location to Grand Isle. To get here in 63 hours it would average 16 MPH. Pretty quick average speed.

Relative to a slower storm, it's better news for rainfall totals and possibly for total strength, not great news for inland wind impacts.

So next run pushes it east?

I know it’s not ideal but a fast moving Cat 2 is better than a slow arse Cat 4. At least for catastrophic damage. Yes more people may lose power but less people will lose roofs.

From my understanding that would mean the GFS had it right and the storm is on the tract they predicted.
