Since when does the STORM Radar App require you upgrade and PAY to see Lightning, Storm Tracks, Crowd Reports, and Weather Advisories etc? I used to love the crowd reports because it would say where trees had fallen from wind, if a tornado possibly touched down and where.

I just look outside for current weather and apparently make terrible weather predictions about the future.

Storm app went downhill about a year ago when TWC bought it.

MyRadar works pretty well. Doesn't have all the features Storm did, but it gets the job done.

Here's a pretty good discussion

Nice "I have a window" brag.

This happened a week or 2 ago and is the reason I deleted it.

The old Storm app was amazing and I wasn't a huge fan of the Storm Radar app that followed it but stuck with it. When they put the pay wall up I dropped it.

Now I have a combo of apps. I use and will keep RadarScope for radar. For forecasts I am deciding between Dark Sky and AccuWeather. Each is pretty good at different things. I find myself using AccuWeather more though and I'm not sure why.

WeatherBug actually has a decent radar for average people's purposes, has a lightning feature, and is good about pushing weather alerts for you location. It's also free.

Don't rely on any of them for a forecast. Your local NWS office is best for that.

Radarscope costs like $10 and is the best in the business for an actual radar. The downside is the vast majority of people won't use 75% of the features.

I'm not familiar with the Storm app prior to TWC acquiring it but I'm liking it.

Initially I loved MyRadar. I loved the look and the features but I also found it makes the rain look more intense than actually observed.

Too many yellows and reds compared to what I see on the Storm app and the local TV radars.

Twice in the last week MyRadar had me under heavy rain that was actually a drizzle. The Storm app more closely resembled what I was actually experiencing.

I read you can't cut & paste from weather websites very well.

About a week ago I noticed that followed by a deletion of the app.
