At the current track this feels like more of a Rita situation for Gainesville. Now it's shifting west fast so they could take a pretty solid hit still. They really don't want to lose an important home game. Any talk of them moving it to Monday?

They've done it before...
Not sure if there is as much interest in it with no concerns in LA, but it certainly doesn't bother me.

A bit off topic, but I find it pretty fascinating that the US has the audacity to run their model out to 384 for the public's consumption. I have no clue what I'm doing in 16 days, but the US is going to take a stab at what the weather is going to look like.
My favorite is AccuWeather's 90-day forecast. 90-DAYS!

Not that I've seen or heard...

I'm sure someone at NCEP is flipping tables this evening and screaming, "Just unplug it! For all that is good and decent!"

At that point I'd be pretty pleased if they could just tell me what day of the week it will be.

That's a 5-day cruise ship track. Leave from the Bahamas and return 5 days later.

GFS thinks the pressure is going up to 994 mb?

I've seen loops before, but it is still pretty surreal to ponder:
36 hours out
180 hours out
I'm sure the guys on the weather forums have creamed themselves as the updates roll in.

Safe to say that "Matthew" will be retired...
Posted on 10/4/16 at 11:34 pm to RummelTiger
And he's only been around since 2004

I wonder how much Nicole and the fujiwhara effect are coming into play with the forecast past 6 days?
Posted on 10/4/16 at 11:35 pm to RummelTiger
I personally retired the name Matthew on my list when Louisiana was slammed by destructive tropical storm Matthew in 2004. It rained all Friday night.

I mean at this point it is just comical.
***This is 8.5 days away. No one should take it seriously for now***

That is not the full res map, the full res is showing it strengthening down to 931 in 180 hours.
