The accusation is the NOAA is the only source of the nationally "reported" data but that the actual locally recorded data is WAY off - basically they are pushing the climate change agenda.

The 2AM report yesterday morning had Matthew with 115 MPH sustained winds and hurricane force winds that expanded 45 miles from the center of the storm.

At 3AM a personal weather station on Staniel Cay reported a sustained wind of 92 MPH. Stained Cay was 37 miles from the reported coordinates for Matthew.

I think people misunderstand A) how much "weaker" the west side of storm can be and B) that the winds are concentrated in the center of the storm. Staying offshore and to the east has been a huge blessing for FL.

So is it safe to say that LSU could fly in tomorrow morning, whip the Forfeits up and down the field and fly home. I say we go for it.

I have a BIL that captains a 767 for DHL internationally. When he piloting under contract into Khandahar, he said it wouldn't matter if there was a F2 cyclone at the end of the runway. When it was time to go, he went. Not sure what takes more nerves. Flying into a hurricane or flying into a war zone where there's all kinds of shite that could take you down?

I just watched a really good Jacksonville news report that was right there. The bay is flooding St Augustine but, the water stops about three blocks into the town as it is now. It will still increase for the next two hours, though.

There is dry ground within 150 yards of those people's location. There is also a multi level parking garage close by that would be very safe to shelter in.

They need to get to the roof. Why did they stay? I am going to guess to protect their business? How silly.

The HWRF has been pretty good with this system so far (nailed the just offshore track) and the 12z run brings Matthew in just SW of Charleston, SC.

I can't wait for SEC Rant to whine that the LSU/UF game could have been played.

Can someone find me a good link to a Jax Beach cam? A pier shot would be very beneficial right now.
