Recon reports one eye some 40 miles across. Would appear the eyewall replacement is progressing. Pretty awesome to watch it on radar all afternoon.

Not near the same area and not really comparable at all to what the models show IMO

We have a lake house in Fort Mill (TC really) one exit up if anyone you know needs to ride it out.
Be safe.

That's because it's been moving NW all day. It's expected to turn more North later on.

I hear ya but people keep saying it has made a turn to the north and may not hit land

People are watching wobbles and two "eyewalls". A north wobble might save some people's bacon close to the storm, but the trend is still NW over the long term.
It's like clockwork with a close call/landfalling hurricane. Every momentary change in direction gets everyone excited but means little unless you're very close to the core.

Just the aunt for me. I'm assuming the beach house is underage.

I've been out of pocket all day and just getting quick updates. Is there a long term loop that shows the double eye wall development and movement of Matthew?

Pics if Aunt is 42 or younger.
