I think this thing may turn and come into the gulf like Katrina did when it hit the tip of Florida!

Next recon pass will be interesting. I would not be surprised to see it down around 950 and the winds up 10 knots. It just looks that good on sat at the moment. Good night and stay safe.

Wasn't Katrina on the same path and then it got to Nassau and took a hard turn west at 90 degrees and came straight into the gulf and then sat there for days?

Look at that slut Katrina.

Now look at this slut Matthew.

I found this to be a really interesting graphic...man we took a beating that year.

I wasn't in Louisiana in 2005 but my friends and family there said Rita was worth than Katrina. Katrina was a nasty looking storm though. She is like an OT 9 when it came to looking the part though almost perfect shape and eye.

No, never. This is the first forecast track for Katrina that year.

Nothing about Katrina is similar to Matthew except for the fact that they both were in the Bahamas at one point.

I'm in Cancun until Thursday morning/early afternoon. Should I be worried?

Cancun should be completely fine. Travel may suck back to the east coast over the next few days. Nassau getting fricked right now.
