Think it will be ok, honestly my only concern is storm surge and getting trapped because the Bridges's are closed

For those worried about surge in the Jacksonville area, this is the most recent NHC Surge Prediction as of 5 EDT.

NHC Link

Only one area with any orange dots - greater than 6 feet but less than 9 feet projection.

That link just pulled up a large colored map for me. How do I see closer detail?

I'm on the Southside.

Know where Hooters is on San Jose Blvd? Near enough to there.

THANK YOU for that flood picture. I can see my exact neighborhood there. No blue, and minimal yellow near me.

A serious issue is the aged timber since the last event. It's been awhile and the canopies are due for a pruning and with Mother Nature doing it, bad things will happen. The debris will be significant.

No problem, but keep in mind that is based on the current forecast as of 5 PM EDT. If Matthew strengthens and as the track meanders things will change. Just check the link every 6 hours or so.

Just mouse click on the map close to your location and it will call up a street map. You can zoom in from there and then scroll down the page to where the forecast graphs show up.

Haha. Crazy we are all going to be a square mile from each other. I'll be hanging out on Hodges. Hopefully I hope by some miracle we power for some football. If nothing else, to take the mind off whatever else is likely to be going on.

Yep. I don't have any that will be a problem. My neighbor has one that could though but he had it "lightened" up a couple of years ago.

We should be good. The last time we went through this I went through two chain saws helping folks.

Stay safe.
