re: Stopped two people trying to move up the aisle on an airplane yesterday

I've had to do this twice. Once our flight arrived late due to a delay and I was in real danger of missing my connection. I made it to my connection just as they were closing the gate. Waiting 3-5 extra minutes for people to get their bags from the overhead bin would've cost me hours. The 2nd time I had gotten food poisoning from airport shrimp and was about to shite myself. If some dick had stopped me I'd have probably just let it go right there

Surprised to see so many people think it’s ok to cut everyone else on the plane.
I understand the connection issue, but it’s rude to do just to do it.

Oh, I step out in the aisle as soon as possible. Unless there are connecting flings that are tight, and the airline usually makes that clear and informs everyone to allow for that - I can't stand folks skipping ahead of me or anyone else.
the fact that they were polite about it meant they most likely did not have a tight connection, they were just had bad manners.

I was just about to come on here and talk about a man on my flight who stopped people from racing in front of other people to get off a plane and how much it meant to me in my family. Thank you so much for doing that.

They werent, they seldom are. Flight attendants announce in that case.

No, they don't. It is not a rule. I've been on over 700 flights, and it's been announced maybe 30 times, and I live at a global hub, so plenty of people were connecting to somewhere else in IAH and at risk of missing it.

they seldom are.
quote:As already mentioned, yes, they are more likely to do that for THEIR AIRLINE. But you are forgetting about the possibility of people flying on contiguous, but unrelated connections - especially in international where people get more creative to save money.

In my experience, it's not every flight but I'd say at least a third of the time at least. I fly about 5 or 6 times a year.
If they inform me they are late for a connection, if I'm not also late for a connection, I will let them pass, full well knowing they might be lying.

I was in the middle seat towards back of plane and the black lady in window seat kept trying to climb over me because she said she was tired of sitting. I can’t stand people that act like that. We are all tired of sitting.
