Same, grew up in that church. Left the church, religion several years ago but seeing it in that condition and the old parishioners in the parking lot visibly upset was just sad.
I drove to see early this morning. Not my church, but I felt terribly sad seeing the damage and the parishioners standing around. You know several were probably going there for decades, with years of holidays, baptisms, weddings, and funerals in their memories.

Yeah man I brought my uncle up there this morning, he has been going there for over 30 years now.
I agree the saddest part was seeing all the older parishioners visibly upset and crying

It wasn’t arson, they probably already determined the cause.

Years ago I went to a small rural Baptist church. We were in the process of a building fund and planned to build a new building. The very old original building was struck by lightning and someone happened to see it happen with a small fire starting. The fire got put out in time. Our little building committee murmured about how that fire would’ve been a blessing.

The church are the people. Sorry they lost their building. I have heard of other churches that will offer their facilities temporarily until there is a permanent solution.

Strange Google maps street view image in front of that church shows a firetruck. Google maps street view.

Apparently a few years ago they had a small electrical fire in between two walls.
