I'm thinking it was a witnesses' lie and they are running with it. Have to wait for body cam footage to know for sure

So, why didn't the DOJ tell the public that the cop told the CD Man that he was going to kill him during the press conference?
Acting US Atty Amundson said that the cop said, "I swear, I'll SHOOT you." He said nothing about "Killing."
Twisting words to rile the public at the same time calling for peace. Such BS, they want riots.

Dude will say anything to push his agenda. 5 days ago it was string the cops up they're murderers. Now its ummm the one cop should be fired because he said something wrong. They are going to nitpick this thing until something happens

Family said they put a gun to his head and said "I will kill you" Gary said they put a gun to his head and said "I will shoot you" doj official report and live statement said he put the gun to his head and said "place your hands on the hood" which is it just sound fishy to me someone is not telling the truth

Good point

quote:

Not sure what's going on in LA, but here in TX, CNN reported that the information about the officer pulling the gun and pointing it to his head and saying, " I will kill you" was just released today. There was no opportunity for it to be considered during the investigation. Regardless, right is right and wrong is wrong. The CNN reports state that he had a firearm "in his pocket" which is what prompted the office to pull his weapon and shoot. They also stated that although there is no FEDERAL indictment, there is STILL OPPORTUNITY FOR STATE charges to be brought. My prayer is for peace for the family, peace for the city of Baton Rouge and those surrounding, rebuke of evil, distention, and separation between all races, and removal of anything and everything that looks like racism and/our bigotry from all positions of power both seen and unseen.

hen why did the DOJ keep it a secret from everyone EXCEPT the Sterling family?

Maybe it's not germaine to the burden of proof of a Civil Rights violation? Honestly, this whole day feels like the DOJ, the lawyers and the "community leaders " are all making sure the protests don't start now. "Too early dawg, wait until if/when Jeff Landry doesn't do anything. Then we burn shite down"

Not directed to anyone in this thread, but why is it okay for people to talk about police in absolutes but no other large group is acceptable to do so?

Also, why don't people realize that those who say back the blue doesn't mean that blue never makes mistakes or what not.

And those who say blm don't mean they think blacks do everything perfectly. People get so emotional all around now days

Isn't that the entire job of a "community organizer"? Spin stories the way they want in order to rile up their supporter base.

Completely agree. Doesn't mean they shouldn't be held accountable when they frick up

I don't disagree

Video looks really bad. Then we hear there was a gun. I have no idea if this was good policing or not. Honestly I don't know if good policing is doable. My HS friend is an awesome person and it makes me a little sick he is a state police.

It makes me sick we have so many Alton Sterling's. Our society is a failure.

Gary is the last person who wants this to go away. If all is quiet in BR for a year or two, Gary's schtick is sunk.

they kinda stemmed things a bit by talking about the state investigation

I fear if Landry comes out and says no state charges... that is when things will go down hard

NAACP President was on the radio this evening calling for an independent prosecutor. He mentioned Tony Clayton would be perfect about five times.

Unless he's straight up lying and involving others in it, the DOJ did confirm what the aunt said about the gun to the head

I'm having a hard time believing this. If it were true than they would have had to press charges.
