Good God. I used to watch the Colbert report a long time ago and gave him a chance when he took over the late show. I tried watching the late show a couple of times but it was so political.

I haven't seen the show in years. I was watching the news and had to go to the kitchen and when I came back I got to see Stephen Colbert without an audience.

It was very sad. His jokes were not funny, the same as I remember, but especially sad when there are no audience members to clap or laugh when the light comes on.

You didn't stumble and hit the remote?

To be fair, do this with Conan or pretty much anyone else and it's just as bad.

Go watch Seinfeld without a laugh track.

Without Trump, his show would have been cancelled 3 years ago.

Honestly, seems like a totally different person.
Like the old Colbert would make fun of this late night Colbert.

I remember him as being supremely funny during my college years when he was on that Comedy Central show with Jon Stewart but I haven't paid too much attention to him as of late. I am guessing the premise is; DAE OMB?

You know the Colbert Report was all about making fun of Fox News, right?

Dude is completely obsessed with Trump along with a couple of the other late-night talk show hosts. Letterman became obsessed with Trump too before he left. I mean, politicians and the President will always be the butt of many jokes on late-night shows, but they (the hosts now) get angry about the crap.

Shows how adept Carson was at his craft. Made political jokes, but never was hateful or vicious. Truly the GOAT.

Never thought he was particularly funny on The Daily Show. Of all the support players on that show, I always thought he was the weakest. That smug smirking delivery he had was a one note song and wore thin fast. Was surprised he was the one who went on to bigger and better things.

Anger in a comedian is usually not a good look. Letterman was coming across as bitter towards the end

No way! The only reason I created this thread was to get a response from Slagathor!
