It is really hard to warp actual rotors unless they are really thin or you do some excessive breaking. Brake pads deposit material unevenly on the rotor, and that is your typical warped rotor. Turning and new pads should fix it 
Most shops don't even have a lathe anymore, so they'll tell you they need to be replaced, but they don't

Here's the scoop. My truck does the same thing. Has been for a while. Took it to reputable brake guy in town. He told me it wasn't a big deal and that he recommended just dealing with the annoyance rather than getting a brake job.

Old car used to do this at certain speeds like 51 mph and 69 mpg

I had a bad caliper (seal) that would cause this symptom as well.

Had 3 fords over the years. All 3 had transmission and brake issues,mostly shaking when braking. Replace them rotors!
I got Hondas after that and never had another issue.

What kind of tires? Are they worn?
