Hotel

My last trip home I stayed in a hotel 3 of the 5 nights. The other two with my father who is widowed and lives alone, but still wasn't going to just crash for 5 nights in a row

Because of the baby I’d suggest hotel. Usually if it’s a night I’ll stay with family, any longer and I’m probably getting hotel unless I have my own bedroom and bathroom.

Maybe ask your brother what he thinks? And how long are you staying?

Also, how much help with the baby are you planning? If the answer is minimal, get a hotel.

If you are cool being up in the middle of the night to help, atay there.

For me, family is always welcome, but I am not at all offended if they want to get a room elsewhere.

OP might also want to have a real talk with his naive gf about the general cleanliness of the average hotel room.

I'd rather use the soap scummy shower of family than the one covered in strangers' invisible semen and other bodily fluids.

You can control the temperature as you want
You can shite and not worry about sound and smell
Pack a good bourbon in your bag and not have to share it

Man, your gf is a bitch. This is your family. If they were already a bit untidy, it's only going to be worse with the newborn. Y'all should stay there and your woman should help clean to do the family a solid....you should do the same.

By staying at a hotel while they have a newborn, you're going to look like a real POS. Rightly or wrongly, I fricking promise you your brother and/or SIL will notice you avoiding the baby and take it personally.

This is the main reason i always stay in hotels when visiting friends or family.. a lot of people i know are cheap, and they like to keep the A/C on 72 or 74 at night- at my house, we keep it at 68 degrees overnight, and i cant sleep if it’s any warmer.

Also, i enjoy sleeping in, especially if it’s the weekend or a vacation, and if i’m staying at someone else’s home, i sometimes feel ‘obligated’ to wake up at a reasonable hour.. if i’m In a hotel, i can sleep in til whenever i want and not feel guilty.

As someone who’s been a new mom, I can’t tell you the number of people who offered to come stay with us and “help.” Turns out, for most of them, what they meant by “help” was that they wanted to sit on the couch and hold the baby while I cleaned made meals for them, and did dishes, in addition to all the “gross” stuff like changing diapers, doing spit up laundry, and BF every 2 hours, the entire duration of their stay. That sucks and is not help.

Sounds exactly like something my family would do.

Family and friends before hotel for the most part.

I have a friend and her daughter staying with me for the better part of 6 weeks right now and love it. They are settling in and making themselves at home and I am ending up traveling some for work but for the first time in a long time I came home tonight from a trip to people. I forgot how nice that feeling is.

Use the baby as a scapegoat and hotel it.

Plus, she is gonna put some wild booty on you in the hotel room. Chicks get down with wild sex in hotel rooms

Hotel. Need our own space at night. Not that I don’t love family, but it’s what we’re use to now that we live out of town.
