Clearly that frustration led to five people being shot last night on St. Claude Ave.

No they are not related.

You always see a bunch of shootings at the end of the month to meet quotas. Something to do with bonus calculations.

Time for LaToya's cousins to get paid. I'd like to see the list of new construction LLCs in Orleans.

It's almost, if not already to the point where these vandals have to google "remaining nola statues" in order to figure out which ones they are offended by.

Yeah, these are the same idiots who want to tear down the Joan of Arc statue. Joan of Arc... I guess because, reasons.

Out of respect for their family they wait until their welfare check is already in the mail before they kill them.

this really isn;t even about statues or the civil war. We're seeing a bunch of modern day jacobins, typically gutter punks and grad students in some unemployable area of study, externalizing their self hatred by scapegoating some symbol. We can take down every statue in the city, confederate or not, and it will be the street names next. Then it will be private property, free speech and so on.

Got to be out of towners. The poors in LA wouldnt know a confederate statue if it walked into their house and robbed them.

These monuments don't deserve NOLA...put them in a public space where they will be revered and not defaced all of the time.

This was the most reasonable course of action. But Mitch has pretty much guaranteed that these monuments will never be seen by the public ever again.

What's bizarre to me is that this monument is about 100' from the Jeff Davis monument that was removed. You'd think one of the Take 'Em Down NOLA dumbfricks would have seen it when they were protesting about Jeff Davis. On the other hand, these are the same retards who thought Andrew Jackson fought for the South in the Civil War even though he died ~15 years before the Civil War started and the date is on the side of the pedestal. Morons ...

The new Cantrell administration, once in, said they are willing to work with the monumental task committee and supporters to release them from Mitch's plyboard jail.

Wouldnt be stupid for her politically. The issue caused Mitch's local numbers to drop significantly. Well.... plus the constant boil water orders and the malfunctioning drainage issues that led to flooding. And the rise in blatant violent crimes. Okay- lots of causes due to him being a horrible horrible mayor, but the statues were definitely a factor.

His statue shenanigans were specifically trying to boost his chances with the Leftie whackadoodle wing of the Democratic Party, which is now running it.

Cantrell wants a second term in nola, though, and coming to some resolution or compromise on the statues would be a way to try and prove her "positive new direction." Most African American voters in nola couldnt give a rat's butt about the statues and most of the protesters are transients or non-voters.
Her immediate political needs and desired results are completely different from his.

My prediction- Beauregard returns to his old spot with some new contextualization that stresses his military and civil engineering in the city instead of his role as a Confederate leader. Lee goes elsewhere in Louisiana or to a local history museum or site. Davis and Liberty Place don't return.

Also, you think whatever self indulgent nimrod vandalized the Dreux statue knows anything about Dreux, his life, his beliefs, etc? I would bet your life savings he/she has no idea.
