A statue commemorating Charles Didier Dreux, who was the first Confederate field officer killed in the Civil War, had been vandalized Tuesday in New Orleans.

Honestly I am surprised he lasted this long.

With the uneducated plebes going after Andrew Jackson, Joan of Arc, Bienville, & Iberville I was slightly encouraged to read he is still there.

You'd think one of the Take 'Em Down NOLA dumbfricks would have seen it when they were protesting about Jeff Davis.

On the other hand, these are the same retards who thought Andrew Jackson fought for the South in the Civil War even though he died ~15 years before the Civil War started and the date is on the side of the pedestal.

The whole statues for confederates feels a lot like a participation trophy. You came in second but least you played hard

Cantrell wants a second term in nola

Went to hear all of the mayors speak at Loyola about two weeks ago for the IOP thing they do every year, yeeesh, the old Orleans democratic machine and powers at be could not come up with anyone better than her, atleast with SWB in BR she is somewhat intelligent and can form sentences, just a complete and total puppet to who got her elected.

At one point without any prompting and it having nothing to do with the overall conversation about there personal experiences with race relations as elected officials, she says one of her main objectives is going to combat the income inequality between the races by raising the minimum wage to $15, Mitch goes good luck, but not taking the obvious que she kept in with outrageous "Studies and data supports this crazy number.

Goodluck this trainwreck will be fun to watch

The dude is wearing a military coat and hat. He's on a pedestal ~100' away from a statue of the president of the CSA in the middle of the neutral ground of Jefferson Davis Pkwy. You shouldn't have to recognize his name from LA History class to have at least a suspicion that Col. Dreaux was a Confederate officer. Not to mention that if the protestors could read, all the evidence they need is carved on the pedestal, right at eye level. Col. Dreaux was the first New Orleanian killed in the Civil War.
