Supports the installation of interpretive plaques to aid in the ongoing discussion, which puts the monument in a more current context.

I can support this compromise.

Good, this bullshite of trying to remove them is nothing but a boondoggle that is costing the city too much money for absolutely nothing.

So much for home rule. North Louisiana republicans surely know what's best for the darkies in New Orleans.

Takes a village to raise a kid. In this case, the kid has down syndrome and keeps playing with knives.

So wait. We now need a state commission, which will be funded by all taxpayers, to support local monuments?

Yea, that's not dumb at all.

Some things never change.

Edit: it's still someone outside the city try to tell them shady to do. If she wants them up, take them and bring them to Franklinton

I wonder how well it would go over if a NOLA State Senator introduced a bill to meddle with a strictly Northshore matter?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe this covers all monuments in the state, not just New Orleans.

Where did/does the money come from to erect/maintain the monuments? I don't know and don't feel like looking it up but if any state dollars are/were used I don't see a problem.

No commission is volunteer. It'll have a whole paid board, an executive director, staff, and a contract attorney.

This is just straight dumb.
