They are terrible in northern Lousiana.

I've seen them hiding out on some really really rural roads.
Makes you wonder they don't have better shite to focus on

Well they are supposed to enforce traffic laws on all louisiana roadways....ao no they don't have better things to do....lol.

I mean if they’re getting paid for x for x number of tickets, its not necessarily fraud

To my knowledge, that's not the way it works. They're paid by the hour. The "quota" is implied, but I'm pretty sure they're not allowed to be compensated in that way.

These people don't keep this shite to themselves, and the DAs are fully aware of it too.

Wait....are you saying the DAs are aware that the troopers aren't working the hours the DAs are paying them?

Roads that get 10 cars in an hour or 300 in an hour
Idk, seems to me protecting and serving would best be demonstrated on the higher traffic areas ......lol.

I'm 100% confident many are aware. Like the article states, they pay $20k in a month and get $200k in fines. The troopers work 2 hours and charge for 8. Everyone is happy and well paid, and the racket just rolls onward.

I just have a personal vendetta against speeding ticket rackets. It's one of my goals to get the Jeanerette City Marshal office shut down, but all rackets deserve the criticism.

See that's where we differ.

I'm all for LEO whether it be Deputies or Troopers patrolling the roads around where I live and where my wife and children will be on a daily basis.

To me....that is protecting and serving.

So who can I reach out to regarding my speeding ticket in Orleans Parish that I haven't paid yet?

Actually been pulled over 3 times by that piece of shite marshal office, but was released twice with them admitting they got a "bad reading" after I outright called out the bullshite. I'm no hard arse or anything, I just get tired of their charade. A marshal has no business patrolling Hwy 90 outside of Jeanerette, and I've seen as many as 4 pulling people over simultaneously. They lost an officer a few years ago after he got into a high speed chase resulting from those stops, and they've wrecked multiple vehicles in chases.

Jeanerette continues to dwindle in population, but the marshal office continues to grow on the backs of speeding tickets outside of the city.

I know this, the new head of the state police is a good man who I think will do his best to clean up whatever problems we've all known or heard about in recent years.

He was smart enough to reassign a bunch of the golden boys around headquarters and he's shut the LACE deal down until it can be cleaned up.

DAs have a tad of blame here as well. They use this money to fund their offices just as they jump at the chance to reduce a ticket and put someone in diversion so they can keep all the money. This deal is about to blow up as well. Too many agencies get revenue from tickets and with diversion they're getting screwed so they're bucking up.

I agree. Col. Reaves is a stand up guy just has a lot to clean up from the past administration.

Yep. It's a bad system, but everyone involved makes money off the backs of people who would rather pay the fine than deal with the bullshite, so it's become a behemoth.
