My family has been with State Farm 30 years. Never had a problem. Been through several wrecks, hurricanes, and moves.
Sounds like this is not legit. Sorry. You might be getting scammed, but it's not by State Farm.
Only possible way this is State Farm doing this is if you committed fraud somehow...But, I would highly doubt it.
Call your agent, then call State Farm corporate, and then call the department of insurance. You will find your answer.
Don't jump to conclusions though.

"I would not have purchased if quoted the rate you are trying to charge. I will not pay your made up rate"

Could be real but also sounds like a perfect phishing scam.
Only thing that makes me think it is real is how do they know you had a teenage daughter. They might simply have been playing the odds and if you didn't have a daughter, they move to the next rube.
If you didn't lie to them, I don't see how they can come back at you for past errors in rates.
If they are just increasing future payments to make up for the error then bail as everyone else has stated. But first pick up the phone and call your agent or call State Farm. Not the number given to you by the con artist.

hawgndodge, SF Agent here. I have a similar situation I need to get resolved. How can I contact you?

I'm sorry but I'm calling bullshite on this. When you added your daughter to your household, the underwriter would have pulled a Motor Vehicle Record for her to determine if she had any accidents, violations, DUI, etc. If the birthday was incorrect, the MVR would have returned as a NO-HIT. At that point you would have a certain amount of time (15-30 days)to provide the correct info or be cancelled.
If it isn't phishing, then bring your business to a different SF agent that knows what the frick they are doing.
Additionally, you would only be held liable if you provided false information i.e. committed insurance fraud.

Did you put the car in his name?? If not she doesn't need her own insurance he is covered under yours as long as she is driving a vehicle you own.
This simply isn't true. All drivers in the household must be listed on the policy (or specifically excluded).

State Farm
The worst. One of their customers rear ended me at the beginning of the month, as of yesterday State Farm told me that the police report was still not available.
Oh really? I downloaded it from the Ascension Parish website 3 days after the incident and it proves the person who hit me is lying to them. Meanwhile my vehicle has not been evaluated and the doctor visit for a sprained neck has not been mentioned.
frick state farm

That means THEY don't have it yet. It takes quite a while for insurance companies to receive police reports the official way.

Then email a copy of it to State Farm.

That's going to be decided by State Farm.

Go through your insurance company first and have them subrogate against State Farm. You pay your collision deductible this way but you will get it back.

Or you could just use common fricking sense and take matters into your own hands.

OR ... God forbid ... The State Farm agent could do their fricking job.
I emailed them the police report yesterday when they claimed it was unavailable.
Last time I made a claim to my insurance for a small fender bender for my wife - which included a police report - All State had it taken care of in a matter of a few days. State Farm might not be all bad, but this person handling my claim is.

You can try to make a claim on their E&O policy for it. Every agent has one.

Agents do not process claims

What agent are you dealing with?
Posted on 6/30/15 at 5:01 pm to MBclass83
You must have Joan Landry as your agent. Those women over there are the most incompetent individuals ever.

?
So they've been undercharging you 83.33 dollars a month because of a birthday?
