State Farm's failing business model and high rates caused them to lose a bunch of customers--They had to drop rates. If JBE enacted TORT reform, then it would be his doing. But I don't see JBE backing any legitimate TORT reform measure.

I doubt JBE will support any tort reform based on his donor list from 2015...

Don't get confused with "Average" rate decrease. Still likely most of you will see Increases still.

3 legit claims over a 5 year span on homeowners insurance
Hate to tell you but most companies would have done this..
But you're truly better off b/c SF Homeowners is stupid expensive and the Deductibles are garbage.. I can beat them all day long on H.O.... by a large margin.

Third Cut in 9 Months
This is really just for optics alone.. The total of the 3 cuts combined is only 7.7%.. If the 3 would have combined for 12-15% then we'd have something to discuss.
B/c the year prior they took 9.9% in increases..
JBE didn't do shite and can still go suck a turd..

Throw out a number for your liability cap. What type of damages would it cover?
Posted on 2/8/19 at 10:55 am to boosiebadazz
State Farm is for people who never price check their insurance. I had a buddy who went to work for them so I gave him a shot to quote me. They were $50 a month higher for the same coverage and deductible as Geico.

Switched to Geico from USAA, even insurance from USAA is getting absurd for their premiums.
I did as well about 4 months ago when USAA raises my rates for no reason other than they “have had a lot of claims for my type of vehicle” (a 17 Silverado 1500 w/out nuts that has barely 15k miles on).

Maybe start with a liability cap. I don't see how someone in a simple rear end tap accident gets 70K. With a liability cap, you would no longer have these cases of "injured persons" needing 6 months care of a chiropractor because they got a minor dent in the bumper.
So what if a car is totalled? Is there going to be a liability minimum?

Screw State Farm they dropped me for 3 legit claims over a 5 year span on homeowners insurance
quote:Sounds like you waited until the last minute to start looking for new insurance because typically insurers are legally required to give at least 30 day notice by mail when they're dropping you at renewal. I'm no fan of State Farm, but if you ignored the non-renewal notice until the last minute then that's on you.
2 weeks into hurricane season with one in the gulf. I had been with them for over 30 years .I had to take vacation to find new insurance

Mine might stay the same or worse. Got into simple accident in costco lot. the other driver hit me front on and he was at fault. We chit chatted and walked away with each other info. No ticket nothing. One month later, I get call from State Farm that LA finest dudley Debosier is suing State farm for an accident. Apprarently the other driver has back pain.

ONLY reason they are doing it is their customers are switching to other insurers rather then continue to be raped by the high rates.
alstate was 25% cheaper so i switched to them, and i had had state farm for 35 years straight with not a single ticket, accident, or even broken windshields claim, yet they raised my rates at almost every renewal time.
they called me several times to come back but when i asked if they would keep my old rates they said corporate dictates the rates not the local offices
i asked they guy why i should be dumb enough to knowingly pay more then any other company around charges for the same coverage, and he couldnt answer
they are doing the same endless rate increases with home insurance as well, everyone in my family has left them and we all had home and auto policy

Did you take any pictures at the scene that might help fight it and prove it wasn't your fault? Otherwise, without pics or a police report then your insurance is likely to just try to settle with the other guy to make it go away. And you'll likely be tagged with an at-fault accident on your claim history.
Posted on 2/8/19 at 11:24 am to Tiger Prawn
Yep took pitures and everything. Hopefully State farm will fight for me and won't surrender. What infuriates me is that the other driver was laughing and walking around for an hour till cop arrived. But now he has medical bills as soon as Dudley showed up. State farm ruled him 85% at fault. But I have a feeling they are just going to settle.
You just cannot trust people. Happened to me 2nd time. My bad to trust people

That's when you go talk to Greg

If everybody would switch insurers when their rates go up without cause, rates might be more reasonable.
Insurers punish loyalty.
Insurers punish loyalty.

Drop the jury trial number to Min. Policy Limits from $50K, but the House full of Gordons called the state legislature will never let that happen.

How about a prescriptive period longer than 1 year?

This will infinitely increase the number of people called for jury duty. You ever received a summoms? If so, like most, I’d guess you tried to figure out a way to get out of it immediately.
