I just finished 12 rounds of very aggressive chemo. It got tougher as it went along til I was just shot, 1-7 was tolerable 8-12 was tough . The chemo worked and tumor is gone , just had surgery ( it was on my scalp) have staples in my head as I type this Radiation is next. You can have no side effects or all of them. For me , I lost ALL my hair , like all of it everywhere, taste was screwed but I made myself eat. Sour things I liked , mashed potatoes, grits, pasta was good, I couldn’t eat meat towards the end , I drank lots of protein shakes and lots of water . Got mouth sores , the mouth wash they give you taste like crap but it works . Towards the end I was just exhausted, I didn’t lose much weight, my muscles were sore ridiculously sore, like all of them , I couldn’t walk 10 ft with out looking for a chair and out of breath. You might have none of these , we’re all different, you could have all or none or anything in between . One thing that helped me is I was in pretty good shape when this happened and kept working out as long as I could , I just did less and less til I couldn’t do it. My doctors are pretty certain I’m gonna win this which is good , from sound of it you have a great shot , I believe ya got this. Cancer sux , I don’t know that I have a worst enemy but if I do I pray they don’t get cancer. I’ll pray that win your fight when I pray that I win mine which is daily.

Same here. I just finished 3 rounds of chemo. I start radiation in 2 weeks. I have a rare sinonasal neuroendocrine cancer. I lost some body hair but not much from my head.
Good luck to op.

I know you are scared shitless...I would be as well. I hope you take some solace in knowing tens of thousands of people go through the same thing every single day. They make it through and so will you. We are all pulling for you, my friend.

God speed and prayers to you.

Get some customized balls that make a cool sound when you beat cheeks. Good luck my man!

I think it depends on the types of chemo. I personally couldn’t drink or hold anything cold. If I did it felt like I was swallowing shards of glass and whatever I held felt like it was on fire. I didn’t fully go bald but my hair kept falling out in big patches so I just shaved it to a 1 and had a few bald spots
I had stage 4 colorectal cancer snd did chemo treatments every 2 weeks for awhile before doing radiation. The misery of the side effects would be at its worst like day 2-3 after receiving chemo and for the most part I felt better after a week. So it was nice having a week of feeling a little normal before getting another treatment. My sisters best friend has stage 4 breast cancer and she’s getting chemo once a week for like 2 months...I can’t imagine having to do it once a week since that’s how long it took me to get over the side effects, but hopefully hers isn’t as strong of a dose. I know my oncologist said he was being pretty aggressive with the chemo he was giving me
Let me know if you have any other questions or anything I can do to help. Haven’t read the thread yet so sorry if it’s been answered but where are you located?

Good luck. You definitely need to invest in some premium weed smoke before and after chemo session

Or have your oncologist set up an appt with a "pot Doctor" so you can legally get THC to combat the effects of the disease and chemo. It really works.

This stuff will greatly help your healing and protect your body in the process and beyond
Good luck.

Seminoma or nonseminoma?
If you get radiation keep lots of crackers and Zofran handy. The treatment fields are pretty large through the gut so you can get some nausea. Otherwise, pretty smooth treatment. If you're young, you'll need to bank sperm for kiddos later.

While I cannot tell you about the chemo part, my childhood friend had a testicle removed as a teenager due to cancer. He went through ancient chemo techniques and radiation. He is now 66 years old. They have made giant strides in treatment of cancer since the dark ages.
Wishing you the best.

Lean on the Lord, exercise your faith, and trust God. I can’t begin to imagine what you’re going through, but I wish you the best. Reading the book of Psalms is a good place if you’re interested.

Prayers. Beat its arse.
My dad(RIP) had cancer twice(Hodgkins& Melanoma) and my mum had bladder cancer in 2018. She is in complete remission. Thank the Lord. She was diagnosed 4 months after my dad died.

Chemo’s different for everyone, but what you listed is pretty common. Keep active, it helps A LOT. Even just walks can make you feel better. If you start to lose your hair, don’t hang on to it. Just buzz it. Better to not have the psychological anguish of pulling it out in the shower. It grows back, cut it. Your scalp may get tender. Get you a silk pillow case. Also, don’t be too proud to say you hurt or feel bad. There are meds that can help. Best to take some nausea meds so you can get moving.
But seriously, keep a positive outlook and keep your body active. It’ll be over and behind you before you know it. I’ve done chemo, stem cell transplant, immunotherapy, and about to start CAR-T. So while being put through the ringer, being active and having a positive outlook has keep me looking good and feeling good.
Good luck, baw!
