frick Starbucks, they created their own PC nightmare with their own liberal policies.
frick the two lazy dudes that were arrested. They knew exactly what they were doing from minute one.

This store is apparently not in the best neighborhood and a Mcds next door has been taken over by homeless people according to random people on twitter who claim to live in the neighborhood. Apparently the manager was trying to avoid the Mcds situation.

No, it was when they threw a manager under the bus for following policy. The policy was that the restroom was for paying customers.
It's a PR nightmare because the CEO decided to become a bleeding vagina and bend over to take it from the PC police.

Yeah. The CEO just set an awful precedent.

And the manager would probably be fired if the homeless were allowed to take over. Catch 22 of acceptance.

They've hidden the race of the manager so much that I figured it wasn't even a white chick, but heard the 911 call last night and she sounds really really white.
Posted on 4/18/18 at 8:18 am to TH03
the 911 call made by the manager said their were “two gentlemen who were in their store and refused to leave or make a purchase”.

Yep. Should've been a non story.
Posted on 4/18/18 at 8:21 am to TH03
Did he actually call 911? People need to learn there’s a non emergency number.

I can remember the old Mcds near Louie's doing this when the homeless crowd would show up from State St.

I place some blame on the Starbucks business model ifit allows non-customers to loiter at tables.
Much like the bookstores that allow moochers to manhandle all the magazines that are supposedly for sale. It is a store, not an f'in library.

Or, you know, just politely tell them.

Meh...I don't know if that is always clear. For example, during college, I would set up at a number of coffee shops around town to study alone or with groups. I definitely didn't buy a drink or snack everytime I was at their place of business.
Well it should be clear. A coffee shop is a business, that has costs to pay to stay open. If you are in the store, you are not a customer until you buy anything.
You were being a mooch. Oftentimes one can get away with being a mooch, but when the person/entity that you are mooching off of calls you out, you knock it off.

Also, some Starbucks are set up differently from others. Some of them welcome the idea of you set up there as a place of business or to study. While others remind me more of a Mcdonalds in the morning.
Well I can guarantee you none of them are set up for people to come and go as they please without anyone ever buying anything
I am kind of shocked at them amount of people I have seen in these threads that are like “I’ve done this before and never gotten arrested, it must be ok”. I’ve certainly been to a Starbucks that I was going to use the bathroom and there was a code to get in. The cops were not called that day. I bought something and got the code.

Not all Starbucks are the same. I'm sure there is more of a premium on space in Philly than there is in Baton Rouge. I don't see what is so hard to get about this story other than private property rights apparently come after Muh fee fees.
