What are your thoughts? Do any you have them? Pros/cons?

I'd like to think that I would like one, but I'm not a hotelier...

I'm not sure how clients and others would perceive of them in a professional setting.

I have one that moves up and down. It’s awesome. Get a floor mat for while you are standing - helps a ton and can be bought for $30 on Amazon.

I do not have one but I think that they are amazing. You cannot really use it in a professional setting. It has to be the "other" workplace.

Many years ago I was in the chambers of a United States District Judge in D.C. He had a beautiful mahogany standing desk. I remarked on it and he told me about how he always enjoyed working while standing up. He went on for some time. I always thought it was his way of killing time to avoid going back and resuming the Oliver North trial.

Co worker has one, he is like 6’5” so I understand the need for it with him. I’m 5’7” so I’m not hunched over. But I wouldn’t hate it

Several attorneys in my office, including myself, have one. Highly recommend.

They’re for work stations, not offices where you meet clients. That or get one that can go up and down

What I said came out wrong. I would not feel comfortable meeting with a client if my only desk was a stand up desk. I would use a conference room so as to sit with a client.

In the chambers I mentioned, the judge had a regular desk and the stand-up one which I assume he used in private or when he simply had staff with him.

Agreed. We only meet with clients in our conference rooms.

Everyone in my office has a desk that raises to standing position.

It's awesome. I'd go nuts sitting in my arse all day.

I wouldn’t have one where I meet clients. However for engineers and people who focus long hours I think it’s a great thing. A few of our guys had health issues due to posture/long sitting and the standing desks helped them.

We use conference rooms for meeting with people from other companies.

My office is where my coworkers and I do blow and bang hookers.

I have one. No back pain at end of day. And burn 50 extra calories per hour standing vs sitting.
