Starting Jan. 27, Forever stamp prices will increase from 50 cents each to 55 cents each. The 10 percent increase is the biggest in USPS history.

The price hike is to offset losses from 2018. The post office had its worst year yet, resulting in about $4 billion in operating losses. USPS said in November that  sales from shipping and packages had soared 10 percent but rising pay and benefits and higher transportation costs led to the overall decline in revenue, Reuters reported.

I can't remember the last time I bought stamps and honestly thought they were still around 34 cents.

So you think you can buy them and then resell them for the same price as the post office? Bold strategy.

Sounds like you're going to be sending out a shite ton of Christmas cards this year as you'll have stamps you'll need to find something to do with

I'd pay the post office $100/year to stop bringing trash to my house.

So you're just going to hold on to them for possibly years to make like $.08 per stamp?

I don't care much about stamp prices, but I do ship thousands of packages with USPS, and the increase in First Class and Priority Mail rates is going to cause a few issues.

Still, for the service that you get, the prices are excellent. USPS used to be the worst, but their service with packages now is first rate.

I think he is commenting on the lack of somewhere to divest the stamps after the increase.

Unless the is some underground stamp black market - but nobody in such a place would ever be willing to pay full current stamp pricing unless they were custy as frick.

I used to collect stamps w/ my dad, about 25 years ago. Stamps were around 29 cents then. Mid 90's maybe?
