Looks like my intel was correct.

quote:

BATON ROUGE - The annual Wearin' of the Green Parade has been rescheduled due to an inclement weather forecast for Saturday. The parade was scheduled to roll on Saturday at 10 a.m., but due to rain in the forecast, this time has been shifted and the parade will now start on Sunday at noon. The Shamrock Run will also run at the same time.

Oh well.

Pretty dumb, it's only supposed to rain for an hour around noon on Saturday.

I like the St Patty's day parade, but it will not feel the same being on a Sunday

I get the decision, they want to max the potential for people coming out. Sucks that it’s Sunday because I hate getting hammered with work the next day lol.

I haven't done the run but I know it ends where the parade ends, so I'm assuming there's a lot of overlap between the run and parade route. How are they going to run at the same time?

I wonder if NOLA will give the Irish Channel Parade the option to move to Sunday. Given other events in the city on Sunday it may be an issue

The run usually ends within an hour. It takes an hour for the parade to get to where it will catch up to the route. It should be clear.

I've heard they're making that decision on Thursday.

I'd be interested to see what the bars are doing. The ones with local bands like Ivar's should be fine, but the Earl's thing had larger level artists who may not be able to just do the next day.

Interested to see what happens. From afar. Via social media and you guys.

It should be moved to Monday and St Paddy’s day declared a national holiday
