I agree. You can make the argument that this kind of civil unrest could happen anywhere. The biggest problem is the egos of the sheriff's and chiefs. They don't want to have to ask for other agencies for help. Which is also understandable. Why should tax payers of one jurisdiction have their officers pulled to go work another jurisdiction.

How else do you get an out of control mob to stand down?
Not saying it is right but this is the exact scenario they envisioned.
DEFINITELY

I believe 100% at this point that some of the higher ups in charge have wanted this to go the way it is to justify pro-militarization.
It certainly plays into their favor. Capt. Johnson approach isn't looking so good.

So when the Officer gets acquitted will there be more riots?
Yes - and I suspect in far more places. However, doom and gloom predictions after Zimmerman's acquittal failed to materialize.
But, in this case, it involves a police officer, so if he's not convicted (and that will be on the murder charges) - I don't think the crowd will wait for the inevitable "civil rights charges" federal trial.

Meanwhile. 7 dead and 29 wounded in Chicago.
When are the Reverends going to move their base there permanently to actually do some good? Silly me. It's about shakedown money, not the good of the community.

You know, with full martial law we could avoid all of the unpleasantness that comes with a free society.

The officer should not be charged with anything in this case. He did his job.

Jesse lives in Chicago. POTUS (at least as an adult) and FLOTUS hail from Chicago. Oprah is from Chicago. HRC is from Chicago.
Ain't nobody got time for that. There's certainly no money or political hay to be made by telling black folks to stop shooting each other.

Yup, if this goes to trial he will get destroyed by a defense attorney.
His deposition may not sound exactly like his public testimony.

If nothing else this has shown me that the police can do whatever they want with minimal repercussion. They will easily point to Ferguson and say all of their equipment was needed to maintain order. This is their, "cold, dead, hands" moment
Subsequently, I can guarantee the NRA will wait a couple of months and point to Fergusson and Police militarization and say this is why we need guns.
Everybody wins

So, the autopsy report showed a bullet entry into the top of the skull? I could work with that.

Yup, ruled as the fatal shot...
So fits the officers narrative (friends account) that Brown was charging at him. He would have his head down.

I think you mean nobody wins except government.
And your first statement is almost a truism. Police can do almost whatever they want. In this case it may be justified. But when it's not, they can still do it with limited (if any) repercussions.

Does it? Who charges with their head down not looking where they're going?

Or he could have been falling forward from the neck shot.
Posted on 8/18/14 at 9:07 am to SabiDojo
Probably hit his eye as he was falling over from previous shots

Someone who just got shot in the eye.
