Ummm... He was in a place of business. McDonald's was well within their rights to tell them to take it outside.
The jackass was trying to provoke a confrontation, on camera, for the sole purpose of playing "gotcha'". frick him.
With all due respect, no. Not how it went down. They were just 2 reporters. If McDonald's asked them to leave, they would have. They were just writing their stories and charging batteries.
There is a lot of blame to go around but I just don't get the mentality of those who won't allow, for one second, any blame to be placed at the doorstep of law enforcement. They are humans and frick up just like the rest of us.
I've been out of town all weekend, so this now appears to be 200 pages back.
At any rate... I stand corrected and apologize.
The news reports I was hearing on the radio did not paint the picture the way you did. They kept playing the audio where a policeman is repeatedly telling the reporter to leave, while the reporter sounds like he is stalling to provoke a confrontation.
As to the police being above blame... I'm sure there are bad cops who frick up mistakenly and purposely. Cops who think their badge gives them carte blanche to bully, intimidate and work off their life frustrations on others. But I also think inner city policemen may have one of the most difficult / stressful jobs on the planet.
Split second, life and death decisions against an increasingly unstable, drugged up, agitated and armed populace (sometimes heavily armed) that they are supposed to protect and serve. And for a salary I wouldn't dream of strapping on a gun for.
So yes, I appreciate and support law enforcement as whole, despite the bad eggs. As I'm sure you do also.

The rally for the officer was at the local NBC affiliates office in downtown St. Louis. That's miles from Ferguson. And it was during the daylight. No cracker is dumb enough (well, most of them) to go rally for the Officer in Ferguson at night.
Out of the loop. They had a protest in favor of the cop today? Savages. How many military vehicles showed up? Sarcasm people before ya crucify me.

Still gonna be hilarious if something comes out to definitively prove he never put his hands up and said don't shoot....

Capt johnson isn't an impartial authority figure, he's a PR stunt. Someone else should be in charge.

Black people so crazy. If a white guy had charged a cop, we would have said, "meh. What a dumbass."
