Not a single word of what I have said has anything to do with race. Accusing me of such weakens any hope you have of anyone here listening to your viewpoint.

i didn't see anything racial in your posts, and the fact that he associates this:

The thugs and looters were sent a very clear message last night by the inaction on behalf of police. They now have free reign of Ferguson and can operate with impunity. Thugs will come from far and wide to get their piece of the pie in the Great 2014 Loot Off Games. May the odds be ever in your favor.

added issues of potential police abuse of power

There may be a racial issue in situations like these. There is a disproportionate distrust of the law by many in the black community. I won't debate as to this being justified or not. That would be fruitless even in it's own thread. Too complex and racially charged ...

I'm not backing the police, but none of this, or any actions by the police, warrant looting and rioting.

Agreed.

They are just using this entire thing to justify them stealing and destroying anything they can get their hands on.

Agreed

I, for one, don't believe for one second that they are stealing all this stuff from businesses just because they feel bad for the kid that got shot.

Savages

Agreed

As long as it is looters and rioters and not the community, I wouldn't disagree. But I also don't absolve others of their wrongs either just because I hold the "savages" responsible for the looting and rioting.

I'm gonna bet your racist views have been so engrained in you from an early age that you are not capable of enlightenment.

You should look in the mirror. I have read every page of this thread and you insist on making the cops race known every chance you get with comments like "white cop". I agree that the police acted heavy handed and something needs to be done about the militarization of LE, but leave the white cop/black "kid" shite out of it. No one, and I mean no one, can say for certainty what happened during DW and MB's encounter. We have a court of law that will decide, not message boards.

However, the violence, looting, and stealing lay squarely at the feet of those who committed the crimes. Period

No. The looters and rioters squarely be punished because they committed the crimes. That does not absolve others. Doesn't mean jail time, but might cost a job or 2.

These guys are mostly from outside the community now. They just see a chance to get free stuff.

I just think the only way to change is for the good people in these communities is to get filled with rage and purge their neighborhoods from the inside. I honestly think this is the only way to fix the problem

You are so full of shite. Everyone in this thread for the most part thinks the cops sucked and should have to take responsibility FOR THEIR ACTIONS. But you, want the cops to take responsibility for the looters actions. Which is bullshite

If I misread the posts, my bad, but that's not how I read it. I read it as those posters were solely putting things only at the feet of the looters. The looters are scum and need to be treated like scum. But that doesn't excuse others. If they weren't saying it, my bad. My reading comprehension isn't very good until I get my caffeine through me.

are you not paying attention? No one here has done that. But you have to separate the two: police actions and looters actions. They are independently at fault. Looters, regardless of what police say, are in the wrong. The police shouldn't raise tensions either for their own purposes, but that should not absolve criminals.

You're not and most aren't, I'd suggest that saying "no one here has done that" is either inaccurate or I really suck at reading. I probably suck at reading.

I am way behind, but to make sure I am reading this right.

the poor son of a bitch that got robbed by a thug got his store attacked and looted and the police just watched and made no arrests/

I want to make sure I understand this - Is the above correct? And am I correct in that some people are actually saying that it was the right call to let these people destroy his store?

Please say I am misreading.......

I would suggest breaking this thing down from the beginning but some of us want more facts than is ever made available in an investigation.

Of course most will believe it is either the robbery or the shooting. We may never know.

My own personal belief that the current situation is a result of the instantaneous response of the immediate neighborhood. 808bass and many others (including me) have beat this horse to death as to whether they should have but I remain convinced that the trouble began there. I'm sure if they would have forseen the consequences their actions would have been different AND they did nothing illegal.

From that point on it has become a shitstorm. Not all parties that are guilty of illegal actions will be caught and punished. History indicates that they never are.

Was Darren Wilson the only police officer at the scene or did he have a partner with him? I haven't seen anything regarding any other officers.

Will that actually cure the big picture? Won't they just go elsewhere and cause problems?

No, your are 100% right. My apologies truly schwag. Went back and looked and it definitely was not you I intended to respond to. Saw absolutely nothing in your posts that hinted at race. My apologies. With that, gonna step back and step out and just read until I catch up instead of trying to speed read/respond.

Schwag, my bad and my apologies for whatever that's worth.
