Was listening to the scanner and heard of someone "dropping off gunshot victim" in a green gran prix. Didnt catch the location though, assuming this is random violence and not something related to the police or protests?

I have a feeling you will have a mixture of groups coming in:

1. The white guilt guys
2. The true people who feel they need to take a stand and will help be a part of it
3. People who believe they can show up and make a star of themselves via the internet
4. People who show up and take full advantage of the situation via violence against the police or riots

All have already happened and continue.

The douchebag Washington Post reporter who tried to instigate (and record) a confrontation with the police at McDonald's should take a few rounds of rubber bullets. Jackass.

Um that's not instigating. Anybody that's been in law enforcement KNOWS you don't silence the media or tell them to stop recording. The police chief even knew it was a fricked situation because he said "Oh NO" after the LA Times reporter told him 2 reporters got arrested. Chief said "Oh No", that tells you the officer fricked up.lol. The police were saying one thing but the cameras and private videos showed the Police instigating and being aggressors. The manager of McDonald's even said the Police had no right to go in there and ORDER everybody out of a business. Other police officers said the same thing. That was police fail to the fullest and needed to be caught on video to see what not to do.

Like a lot of people said, if they treat reporters like that, imagine how they treated young black men off camera. Hell there's a video out of one of the cops saying "Bring it, Bring it you fricking animals". He was challenging them to a fight. We all went through training in law enforcement to handle situations during protests, you'll get called names, crap thrown at you, etc. Don't take the bait. Those police officers acted like a bunch of ragtag officers. Guess that's what happens when a state have over 5 regional law enforcement academies, training is different. The Highway patrol only have one academy, it's ran like a military academy. That's why they seem more professional.

well they are acting like animals, but hopefully these events will make cops around the country think twice before bullying anyone. I highly doubt that happens though.

Ummm... He was in a place of business. McDonald's was well within their rights to tell them to take it outside.

The jackass was trying to provoke a confrontation, on camera, for the sole purpose of playing "gotcha'". frick him.

With all due respect, no. Not how it went down. They were just 2 reporters. If McDonald's asked them to leave, they would have. They were just writing their stories and charging batteries.

There is a lot of blame to go around but I just don't get the mentality of those who won't allow, for one second, any blame to be placed at the doorstep of law enforcement. They are humans and frick up just like the rest of us.

Catching the morning news cycle I have learned the following:

1. Apparently protests without violence and rioting now get you a huge pat on the back from the media. I guess violence and rioting is the new normal.

2. This Highway Patrol Captain that rolled into town is about to be a huge star.

3. No question that the Ferguson PD Chief was out of his depth five minutes into this thing. This will be used as a case study in how not to handle incidents.

He will be a state senator or local leader soon and maybe rise from there.

Though honestly in NOLA we said the same thing about General Honore and I don't know what happened to him.

He was on CNN yesterday... Made some idiotic statement. I don't remember what it was in regards to, but I believe it was in favor of the military presence on Wed night.

These idiots don't realize the 72 hour rule doesn't apply police. They latch onto anything to prove a point, even if it's false

just looked him up, considered running for Senate against vitter as a republican. (probably had a chance then) But decided against.

NOLA itself wouldn't have elected a red to office. (Cao was a protest vote)

Gonna be REALLY interesting if the name is one that the cops denied earlier in the week. Not that the local PD has any trust left, but this would be a major blow to their integrity.
