St. George and its effect on current school

I have lived in what will be St. George if it makes it to a vote and wins. Anyway, I sent my first son to private schools because of the terrible EBR public school system and my second son went to the same private school from pre_K - 8th grade. My second son is now a freshman at Baton Rouge Magnet High School. I am wondering if St. George passes will my son no longer be able to attend BRMHS? How would it work if this thing passes and he is a junior? Seems like there would need to be some lead time for St.George to get everything set up.

Even if St. George the city happens, it will be a while before St. George the ISD does.

As I understand it, the city comes first, then they will probably have to fight it in court. After they win and have the city, it'll take a few years at least before they can get their school system. He will have graduated by then.

He will probably be able to finish, but I wouldn't put it past EBR Schools to be vindictive about the transition.
Either way, it needs to come to a vote.

Your son will likely have graduated by the time the ISD is ever set up.

They tried that before forming a city. Got the boundaries of the SE Baton Rouge ISD signed into law, but the funding mechanism required a 2/3 vote in the legislature and failed

YEs, you should be OK. i have one daughter in BRMHS and the second will be a freshman there next year.
If the vote were to pass, that is only the first hurdle. Incorporation. The next is to go on a state ballot to get the entire state to vote to allow their own school district. Then they need time to set up the admin.

No, as opposed to the group (TBR) who successfully divided EBR Parish to get the CATS tax passed.

After the st george kids leave the ebr school system the ebr farms will dry up and we'll have to send them food
