St. Charles Parish teacher, husband accused of running meth lab

Kristy Allen, 37, and Ryan Allen, 42, were arrested Thursday (Jan. 4) and booked with six different counts related to the suspected lab, according to a release from the St. Charles Parish Sheriff's Office. Both were being held on $500,000 bond.
Up until Thursday, Kristy Allen was a teacher at R.K. Smith Middle School in Luling. Stevie Crovetto, spokeswoman for St. Charles Parish Public Schools, said Kristy Allen's employment ended Thursday. Crovetto said she could not comment further on a personnel matter.
Sheriff's officials said they discovered some time in December that a possible meth lab was being operated out of the couple's home in the 200 block of Ellington Street - a home they share with their 7-year-old child.
