St Charles Parish Speeding Ticket

I have court on Friday in Hahnville for a speeding ticket written by a state trooper on the bonnet carre spillway. If I show up will they allow me to reduce it to a non moving? Anyone had any luck? Or should I just pay it. In St John's parish as long as you show up they will reduce it to a non moving if you ask.

Show up early because the line is long as hell. Talk to the DA and ask them to reduce it. They usually will.

yes, i got one by a trooper on i-310, i showed up at court, spoke with the assistant DA and he dropped it to non-moving, but made me pay full price; its very simple just have to go there and wait your turn in line (which can take a little bit so be patient)

Got one just like you did 2-3 years ago. Tried to catch up to lead footed in-laws (not exactly upset by that since the wife had a 396HP Hemi Charger R/T at the time) on the way to NOLA on the Interstate and got clocked on laser for 92 in a 70.
They knocked it down to a non-moving and cut it half.
Which meant it was only about $300. Yeah.

he's gonna do that, but if he can show up in court to have it not hit his insurance why would he not do that

Showed up for my court date for a ticket in Jeanerette a few years back. Judge cut my fine in half and changed it to a non moving violation.
Only speeding ticket I've ever had.

do they do that in Orleans Parish?

Whatever you do, show up (or pay the ticket of course). In St. Charles they will pick up people and make them sit in jail for no show. You can watch the Judges talk to them on the closed circuit tv from the jailhouse before they start other business.

OP, just call and tell them you don't want it on your record. Then, send the sheriff's office a check. That simple and you don't have to go to court
Don't listen to people who have only gotten one ticket in their life. I have well over 100, so it's like second nature for me. I've done the same thing there 4 or 5 times there, and at almost every single PD around South LA multiple times. It's easy and they just want the money. Don't be a chump and show up to court like these tards. Pick up the phone
Eta: I just remembered that earlier this year, they dropped a bench warrant without me going to court because I was polite and was able to come to town and pay my ticket that day

Had the same issue, state trooper, St Charles Parish. Called the DAs office and they reduced to a $50 non-moving violation.

You should just make it a day, bring your sticks and light up the Fashion Terrace Golf Course course after.
Just watch the pit bull on number three if you slice. You're better off taking a drop.

Call Michael Weinberg, traffic attorney in St. Charles, and tell him that you have a ticket that you want to pay and have taken off of your record. Best hurrent and twenty I spend each time I get a ticket.

Call the DA before you go to court.

You don't need to call the DA ahead of time. They will make you go through the DA to go over your charges before going into court. Last time I went I didn't have to say a word. They just told me they were reducing it and I had to plead guilty for a non moving violation. Took a while though.

Why go to court when you can take care of this over the phone?

Old thread but didn’t want to start a new one. GF got a ticket going 37 in a 35 in her new charger. St Charles must be needing the $$$$$ real bad right now.

Get there atleast an hour early. Line is so long you will vomit when you see it

Dude just go to the DA's office ahead of time, ask to get it reduced, & pay the ticket in advance. 10 times out of 10 if you offer to pay the fine they won't give a shite about a reduction, they just want their money
