Throw my nosey elderly neighbor a couple hundred bucks to let me know when they leave.

I invested in a hotel in Argentina a few years ago. During construction, some squatters moved in and locked out the workers. Stole their tools and all. One of the dudes there used the works tools to get some lights working and fell and broke his neck. We got sued, they never left and we just bailed.

It happened to my folks when I was in elementary school. We moved 5 hrs away, had the house on the market. One of my dad's "friends" asked if he could store a few items in the garage. Well, no good deed goes unpunished.
Dickhead (who was an attorney) moves in with his girlfriend. Asspain ensued for months to get this dude out. We were advised on what not to do. You are very limited.
Well, the day finally came for eviction and the sheriff showed up with a van full of convicts. They chucked everything the dickhead and his girlfriend owned onto the lawn/street and they were not careful at all. It was glorious and ended up on the front page of a major section of the new paper. We really enjoyed watching the dickhead's junk get destroyed and sweet karma get doled out.

I would act as it was a robbery and exercise my 2nd amendment rights. Talking to squatters does nothing.

I would at least tinker with the AC condenser so it no longer works. They will not pay to get it fixed, and I’ll know they aren’t living comfortably in there.
Other possibilities:
