The school maybe only goes to 4th grade?
I went to Trinity Episcopal and, at the time, it only went to 4th grade so we had a graduation ceremony.

Years ago, my youngest daughter started Kindergarten in a brand new school. New building. New principal. As the end of the year approached, parents realized that we had not received any information about kindergarten graduation.
Then we found out that the principal felt like graduating from Kindergarten to 1st grade really wasn't worthy of a ceremony. A few parents complained, but most of us were like "awesome!"

When I was growing up we had a "program" every year in elementary school. Perfect attendance, all As, etc was awarded. I'm sure this is the same thing. The only thing that's different is the people that are selfdescribed badasses didn't bitch about it like y'all do while calling everyone else a snowflake.

On one hand, I think bitching about a ceremony to celebrate educational achievements for the school year is kinda silly.
On the other hand, I think we live in a extreme, pat-myself-on-the-back culture which is really prevalent in Facebook schoolkid moms. The types who will write out an entire essay on her FB about her accomplished kid winning the extremely specific Most Improved Reader from April 1-April 14 award that no other kid could win. Meaning anytime theres a chance to have a massive award show, even if its just for moving up a non-important grade, there will be one.

Mine graduates pre-k Friday, I think it's a waste of time, but she'll enjoy it.

If a kid graduates 4th grade.. Then that means, kids are graduating about 5 times before they are a senior.
pre-k (some two year pre-k schools that have two age categories graduates both classes every year so kids that go two years, graduate each year), then kindergarten, fourth grade.. 8th grade.. I wonder if they will be able to put all that on their resume?

The kids are graduating one school and moving to the next. What's the problem here?

You think the teachers want them for another year?

I think some schools have graduation ceremonies for every grade. I have seen parents posting on facebook about their kid graduating second grade and talking about how proud they are.
